Project Description:
Natural disasters such as hurricanes can have a devastating effect on the United States economy. To understand the risks posed by natural disasters to the US economy we built an advanced analytics platform that ingests data from disparate data sources including data from Harvard University’s Business School, the US Census, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and many other sources.
This platform allows decision makers to visualize and better understand the impacts of a natural disaster to the local and national US economy. In addition, our platform allows decision makers to assess the impact to critical infrastructure such as hospitals, nuclear power plants, etc.
Outcome
- A Cloud-based Platform that allows decision makers to predict the impact of natural disasters on the critical economic clusters in the US
